After spending the tail end of 2015 supporting Cold Chisel around Australia and road testing new material, Aussie legends The Living End have made a glorious return with Monkey, the first taste of their next album. Five years on since the realise of ‘The Ending Is Just The Beginning Repeating’, Monkey sees the band refreshed and re-energised, centred around tightly wound drums, thumping bass, and a no nonsense guitar riff reminiscent of early AC/DC (a big plus in my books). I guess for any other band I’d call this song a return to form, but the truth is The Living End have never lost it. The band has hinted at more news in the very near future.
