Amongst all the jokes and fake news on April Fools today, it has been nice and busy in the music world. So let’s be clear that this is not a drill: The Vines are back with In Miracle Land, with an upcoming album promised later this year. The new song strips back all the elements to their core, with the bouncy drums, thumping bass, effortless guitars and airy vocals ultimately embodying a Kinks vibe without sounding unoriginal. It calls back to ‘Winning Days’ era Vines, with a 60s garage feel that focuses on bright melodies and carefree attitudes. Along with a one off solo show from Craig Nicholls just announced, In Miracle Land is a unexpected surprise that is always welcome in our books.

The Vines' seventh album is due out later this year through Wicked Nature Music.
